Leveraging Online Learning During COVID-19

Like many organizations in the building performance industry, High Performance Insulation Professionals is experiencing obligatory change with the extraordinary circumstances the COVID-19 national outbreak is creating. HPIP has re-scheduled two insulation training events so far this year, postponing them well ahead of the outbreak in 2021. These trainings are significant opportunities for our High Performance Insulation Contractors to earn their continuing education units toward their “High Performance Certified” status. Luckily, HPIP already offers alternative online training opportunities to High Performance Contractors and our certification program is able to continue.

As citizens are encouraged to stay home and more cities order non-essential businesses to temporarily close, our Online Certification Program provides a relevant tool to utilize. Over 3,000 individuals have used our online training platform to expand their knowledge and expertise of the insulation industry. Whether you’re a business owner, manager, installer, sales representative, or looking to enter the industry, we have something in our content library for you.

There are two ways to earn your certification with HPIP without attending a live hands-on insulation training workshop. All High Performance Contractors who pay the annual certification fee of $450 are given unlimited access to our online learning management system for their entire company.

We currently offer 35+ continuing education courses to achieve “High Performance Certified” status along with other courses in our general content library. Our library includes courses on building science, air sealing, safety, best practices, business, and more.

Here are a few of our popular courses:

  • Fibrous Batt Insulation Grading

  • Installation Professional

  • Thermal Bypass Checklist

  • Understanding Air Leakage & Sealing

  • Blower Door Testing 101

If you’ve completed training with a manufacturer, another association or organization, or other online training, you may be eligible to become High Performance Certified. You can submit external training resources through our online training platform to see if it meets our continuing education requirements to earn certification. We also accredit courses from industry manufacturers and associations like Knauf and RESNET. If you work closely to train with an organization, ask about accrediting with HPIP.

If you’ve previously been certified as a High Performance Insulation Contractor and have not used our online learning management system complimentary with your annual certification, what better time to take advantage of this versatile tool?

We are here to make these uncertain times easier where we can for the building performance industry. Keep your team up to date on their industry knowledge with a few insulation or business courses.
