SPFA is a 501(c)6 trade association, comprised of the SPF value chain including contractors, manufacturers, and distributors of polyurethane foam, related equipment, and protective coatings, inspections, surface preparations, and other services. SPFA members are professionals who are successful because of their knowledge, experience, and capability in providing long-lasting installations of polyurethane foam systems.

Founded in 1987 originally as the Polyurethane Foam Contractors Division, the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) is the collective voice, along with the educational and technical resource, for the spray polyurethane foam industry. Their experienced staff and member-comprised committees provide a wide variety of services to the industry.

SPFA develops tools designed to educate and influence the construction industry with the positive benefits of spray polyurethane foam roofing, insulation, coatings, and specialty installations.

Although the SPFA is a completely independent trade association, they have a strong relationship with the American Chemistry Council's (ACC) Center for Polyurethanes Industry (CPI), along with the Sprayfoam Coalition. These groups have assisted the SPFA to better serve the spray polyurethane foam industry's business needs on local, state, and national issues.

The Residential Energy Services Network or RESNET is a not-for-profit, membership corporation that is governed by a board of directors (who are elected by membership).

In April 1995, the National Association of State Energy Officials and Energy Rated Homes of America founded the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages.

RESNET is a recognized national standards-making body for building energy efficiency rating and certification systems in the United States involving:

  • A consensus based standard development and amendment process

  • Transparent review and adoption process

  • Formal public review and comment process

RESNET’s mission is to make the energy use of all homes transparent, thereby driving residential sector energy use toward net zero.

The Structural Insulated Panel Association (SIPA) is a non-profit trade association representing manufacturers, suppliers, dealer/distributors, design professionals, and builders committed to providing quality structural insulated panels for all segments of the construction industry. SIPA’s mission is to increase the use and acceptance of SIPs in green, high performance building by providing an industry forum for promotion, communication, education, quality assurance, and technical and marketing research.

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are a high-performance building system for residential and light commercial construction. SIPs are the preferred choice for builders who have a passion for their craft and want to leave a legacy with their quality work. The innovative panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically oriented strand board (OSB). SIPs are precisely manufactured under factory controlled conditions and fit nearly any building design. The result is a building system to be proud of.

Check out the Builder Education with SIPs Training (BEST) in our online content library. SIPA has contributed 10 credit hours of continuing education content for High Performance Certified Contractors, Industry Professionals, and our partners to utilize.

For more than 30 years, PIMA has served as the unified voice of the rigid polyiso industry. PIMA is one of the foremost industry advocates for building energy-efficiency practices and policies. The Association represents the public policy interests of the polyiso industry at the local, national, and international levels to advance the message of high-performance building construction.

The Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) is the only trade association representing the reflective insulation, radiant barrier, and low-e reflective coatings industries. RIMA-I activities are guided by an active board of industry members that participate on national and local levels of building code organizations and governmental agencies.
